Pain. Resistance. Vision. Not just any story, not a fairy tale, but reality. Women. Past,
present and future. A tribute to us, to all that we have been able to achieve, all that we have accomplished. To an era that is not over, that continues to push us forward. A time in which we live between the parallels of emancipated effortlessness, radiant joie de vivre, indispensable freedom & grotesque isolation, verbal cages and inequality. Women.
“We Should All Be Feminists” - A milestone by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichies. But the FIGHT
between equality, acceptance of society and female oppression continues. The struggle is blurred. Tension arises. Distortion.
FEMINIST THREAD/-TS is dedicated to us. Women. How we were, are and will be.
A collaboration of creativity, vulnerability, power. A collaboration with designer
Pauline Gottschalk, who reinterprets the symbols of female oppression. Femininity, history, emotions. Women. The love for us. A renewed appreciation of stigmatized images and, at the same time, a revival of core feminist values. You could even say a critical, inclusive and future-oriented redefinition of feminism.
The designs also set a strong example for sustainable production, with Pauline Gottschalk using only environmentally friendly materials, recyclable fabrics and innovative textile surfaces. The combination of traditional craft techniques practiced by women, symbolic materials and modern aesthetics unites in a blurred atmosphere through different spheres of time.
FEMINIST THREAD/-TS is more than just an editorial. It combines passion, history, memory and change - that fashion is not just clothing. That our creativity is more than just
passion - it is love. That we have a privilege and need to use it for those who cannot.
That we will rethink feminism and shape a common future of equality.
Simply women.
